You can learn to stop fighting your thoughts and start living your life.
OCD consists of three things - thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. That’s it. In OCD, we’re trying to control our feelings through thinking and doing compulsions. But it doesn’t work. Feelings can’t be controlled. But they can be transformed - this happens through your body, not your mind.
Online Somatic-Based Coaching for OCD & Intrusive Thoughts
Why Somatic?
Somatic comes from the Greek word for body. The somatic approach to mental health has been growing in popularity in recent years because it recognizes that emotions are experienced in the body, and can most easily be processed with the mind and body working together. This includes the fear and anxiety that are fueling your OCD and intrusive thoughts.
OCD isn’t just a mental disorder - it’s a mind-body disorder. It’s a battle between your thoughts and your feelings. And when you fight yourself, you lose.
But when you work with body and mind together, the fighting stops. The feelings move. And the OCD state falls apart.
